I'm trying to send a letter, but there are no inmates in the Send To drop-down.

When you sign up for Jmail, it's like creating a new email account. There are no contacts in your address book unless you add them. So to send a letter you have to add a pen pal to your Address Book so we know where to mail your letter.

Here's how to Add Pen Pals to your Address Book:

  1. Click "Address Book" on the top navigation bar.
  2. Click "Add New Contact" from the drop-down.
  3. Select if the contact is an Inmate or Person or Business.
  4. If it's an inmate, fill out the form with the inmate's Name, DOC#, Facility Name, and address.
  5. If it's a Person or Business, fill out the form with the name of the person and business name (if necessary) along with their address information. 
  6. Click "Add Friend"

The contact is now in your Address Book and will now be available in the "Send To" section on the Compose page.

If the inmate is ever transferred to a new prison, or the person changes their address, you can go back to your Address Book here and click their name to bring the form back up to update their mailing address.
