How Do I Know if my Letter Has Been Sent?
You can tell if your letter has been sent by visiting your Outbox. If the letter has a white background, then this means the letter is in the print queue and has not yet been printed.
If the letter has a green background, this means the letter has been printed and mailed for you. See example below.
How Do I Know if my Letter Has Been Delivered?
The USPS does not provide any tracking details for first-class mail sent in the USA. Therefore, there is no way to track a letter once it has been shipped. Once your letter has been marked "Printed & Shipped" in your Sent box, it has been turned over to the USPS. The only way to know if the letter has been delivered after mailing is to ask the inmate.
Jmail does, however, estimate most delivery times are within 2-4 days, however, delays can still happen with the USPS, prison mailrooms, and holidays. Jmail is not responsible for delays in delivery as this is out of our control. Letters that have been addressed incorrectly may also be delayed or not delivered at all. It is the user's responsibility to confirm the address information provided with your letter is accurate. Jmail is not responsible for letters mailed to the wrong address provided by the user, letters rejected by the prison, or letters lost in the mail by the USPS.
Jmail guarantee's to send your letter within 1 business day of receipt from the user. Jmail cannot guarantee delivery of your letter.
