To keep costs down, as well as follow the majority of prison rules and regulations, Jmail prints all letters and PDF attachments in black and white only. While not all do, many prisons limit letters to black and white only and reject envelopes and letters with extra coloring on them.

Photos and greeting cards (when they come available) are printed in color.
