Many prisons do not allow greeting cards or colored envelopes to be sent to their prisons. We strongly suggest you confirm that you are allowed to ship greeting cards to the prison you are mailing to before sending them. Jmail is not responsible for cards that are rejected due to violating prison rules so please know before you send them. You should be able to find mailing rules listed on the website for the prison, alternatively, you could contact the prison directly by phone or ask your pen-pal as well before sending.
Texas Warning:
Texas state prisons only allow greeting cards to be sent from certain 3rd party vendors. We are not currently one of those vendors, so we are unable to send greeting cards to inmates in Texas state prisons. Federal prisons in Texas may be allowed to receive them, we would again recommend that you check with the prison first.
Envelope Warning:
Many prisons do not allow colored envelopes to be sent to their prisons. As the included envelopes have some red on the front and back they may be considered contraband. We can however replace the standard envelope with an all-white envelope. Let us know in your support ticket if an all-white envelope is required.
